Millbrae-SFO
The future home of high-speed rail in San Mateo County will be at the Millbrae-SFO Station, a multi-modal transit center located near the historic downtown.
The station will serve San Mateo County and provide convenient access to the largest and busiest airport in the region, San Francisco International Airport (SFO), two major regional transit services, BART and Caltrain, along with local bus service.

The Authority’s Board of Directors certified the Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIR/EIS) and approved the approximately 43-mile project for the San Francisco to San Jose section in August 2022, which includes la Millbrae-OFS estación.
Changes proposed to accommodate high-speed rail service include:
- Two new tracks and a new high-speed rail platform
- Overhead pedestrian crossing to connect high-speed rail to Caltrain and BART
- Extension of California Drive to Victoria Avenue for station access
- New signals and pedestrian crossings at Chadbourne Avenue and El Camino Real
- New dedicated bicycle path for westside station access
