San Francisco

The primary location being considered for the high-speed rail station in San Francisco is the Salesforce Transit Center (STC). The center opened to the public in summer 2018.

The STC will serve 11 transportation systems, including high-speed rail. A joint effort between the Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) and the High-Speed Rail Authority has helped guide the design of dedicated high-speed rail platforms at the STC.

Prior to completion of the Salesforce Transit Center and Caltrain Downtown Extension, high-speed rail will stop near the existing Caltrain station at 4th and King in downtown San Francisco.
