Fresno

The high-speed rail station in Fresno will be located in the heart of the city serving downtown and Chinatown. The station site is delineated by H Street, Tulare Street, G Street and Fresno Street. The platforms will be centered on Mariposa Street with an entrance on both sides, directly from G Street and via a pedestrian bridge from H Street.​

Within roughly a ½-mile walk, patrons will be able to get to the Chukchansi Park, Fresno County and federal courthouses, the Fresno Area Express (FAX) Bus Rapid Transit service as well as Fresno City Hall. Fresno State University is located about six miles north of the station and can be easily accessed using FAX. Riders who would like to explore Yosemite National Park will also be able to connect with Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS), offering public transportation to one of the country’s most beautiful national parks.

In November of 2016, the California Strategic Growth Council selected Fresno as one of three cities in the state to be a pilot for their new Transformative Climate Communities Program to revitalize downtown Fresno, Chinatown, and southwest Fresno.

In Fall 2018, the City of Fresno and the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) issued a Station District Master Plan with the goal of continuing the revitalization efforts already ongoing in the area and preparing for the future station.

The Authority procured a consultant in June 2021 to work on the historic depot retrofit. The City of Fresno and the Authority continue to develop a conceptual site plan for the station and are collaborating on an early site activation program for the parcels in front of the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot.
